I am Mihaela, the one who often gives her all.
When I am faced with negative situations, both professionally and personally, it's often much easier to look for blame or causes outside ourselves rather than to analyze our own behavior. This process, although it may seem difficult and sometimes uncomfortable, can help us think about how we might improve our own actions or our behavior towards certain people to make future situations better.
It might sound cliché when I say that any change in your surroundings actually starts with you, but if you become better and try to give your all, sooner or later you will be rewarded. And if that doesn't happen, you will gain more self-confidence to continue on your path. Regardless of the outcome, the benefits will be visible.
Even when it comes to a difficult relationship with a superior, you might start to see things from the other side of the barricade and try to understand where their negative attitude comes from, without judging them. I believe this entire process will help you become kinder and not take everything personally, but rather realize that you are doing your job well and their attitude is actually their problem, not yours.
By changing your behavior towards them and maintaining a calmer and more objective attitude, over time you will notice that their attitude changes as well. Because, honestly, you cannot fight someone who is not fighting back; at some point, you are tempted to leave the ring and give up. This will also happen between individuals in a tense relationship; the negative person will stop fighting because they are bothered by your too peaceful attitude, and you will no longer expend energy on a situation that is not about you.
Now, I'm not saying that all people change their behavior and mold to how we wish, but most of the time, changes do occur. For those situations or people that cannot be changed, it's best to keep a distance, do everything in your power to make things better and to feel satisfied, and accept that you cannot change anything else. You can only detach and reduce control.
