I remembered a speech by Mihaela Tatu that I heard live several years ago. She talked about how at that point in her life she was no longer making decisions, but choices. Decisions are about the past, she said, and everyone in the room nodded in agreement. I had no idea, I didn't understand anything, but I was pretending.<\/p>\n
Now, years later, after a long period of self-investigation on the one hand and working with my clients on the other, I can say that I no longer dissemble because I understand. And I apply what I understand.<\/p>\n
The decision...<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n The decision is a resolution taken after a process of analysis\/evaluation\/deliberation based on past facts and data. This is why, once again, people consider experience to be very valuable and thus contribute to the quality of decisions that our fellow human beings can make.<\/p>\n Based on this definition, we can ask what do teenagers do when they have to make a decision? They don't have much lived experience. Or when an adult, to the astonishment of everyone around them, throws themselves into an entirely new professional activity about which they know very little and only in theory. On the basis of the above definition, we can say that it is not a decision what he manifests. What is it then?<\/p>\n It's a choice. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n It is that step which man takes on the basis of an inner urge which does not relate to anything outside, but only to himself and his inner self. This is the choice. The only answer to the question Why did you choose to do what you did?<\/em> is Because that's what I want<\/em>. It's a response that seems to arouse some outrage and we consider it the manifestation of a burp. Because that's what we've been programmed to believe by reference to everything we've seen around us. In reality, the response is the form expressed in the simplest words of free will. That's the way I want it!<\/p>\n When we make decisions, we leave little room for pure novelty, variety, experimentation because everything we decide is based on something we have already experienced that has served us well or taught us a lesson.<\/p>\n When we choose, we create from scratch!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n We don't know what it will be, how it will be, but we take it upon ourselves to build a new future because we feel it! This is the kind of information we get when we listen to our heart. Reason then comes in, through all the enemies in the subconscious mind, and questions the choice. Our mind always and forever wants to make sure that what is about to happen is beneficial and revealing to us. It needs a testimony or proof. There is no proof because you haven't experienced what you just chose, man!<\/p>\n But we have many testimonies about how much suffering there is in the world precisely because of the choices that have been stifled for lack of evidence that they are good.<\/p>\n There's a saying among coaches. After 2-3 coaching sessions of any kind, any coaching becomes life coaching. In business, you have to make decisions or choices.<\/p>\n Managers make decisions, leaders make choices.<\/strong><\/p>\n In entrepreneurship, it's more about choices and how prepared the entrepreneur is to listen to their inner voice talking about those choices. It's about how the small entrepreneur wears the entrepreneur hat, then the manager hat and how he mixes them up by making decisions when he should be making choices and vice versa.<\/p>\n In team leadership it's about choices to make the team stronger. And about decisions when it has already become quite weak and not much more can be done.<\/p>\n I invite you to ask yourself what was the last choice you made and what has changed in your life since then?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Similarly, what is the last decision you made and what did you base it on?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Last but not least, what is the choice you didn't make? And has marked your life in such a way that you secretly never stop thinking about it and what your life would have been like if you had the courage.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Write down.
