The constant attack of this mental pattern - is it your case?

In 2015 I joined a travel club that also had a network marketing business behind it. It was a period of my life that I loved very much, but which also shook a lot in my life - at the level of personal relationships, at the level of confidence in myself, at the level of perspective on life. When I say he shook them, please read that word with both a positive and a negative connotation.

I'm writing to you now about that moment because 5 years later, now in 2020, and 3 years after I got out of this business, I've come to understand some essentials that I feel so strongly to pass on to you. Maybe you're in the same situation and don't even realize it.

The intention and the objective. You already make that distinction, yes? If not, let me use my own example and that of this travel club to illustrate it.

The objective it is the one we first perceive, we give it concreteness, we put it on Dreamcharts, we talk about it to people. My objective for joining the club was to develop a network so large that I would have a nice passive income and get on the club stages to inspire other people. Don't forget, I've had some absolutely great experiences with this club! I loved him a lot because he gave me a lot!

Intention but from behind it was different. But the intention was not clear to me until now when I stopped to analyze it. Intention is that well-hidden reason within you for actually doing everything you do. The intention was to get rid of the feeling that what I was doing at that moment in my life was not fulfilling me, and to inject myself with a dose of new dopamine by starting something from scratch again and again with the belief that that something will surely be the project that, finally, will fulfill me, will make me stop having that feeling of discord, of "I'm not in the right place", of "there are opportunities I'm missing", of "life is too short to waste chances".

Are such thoughts running through your mind? Maybe you don't even hear them. Stop for a moment in the middle of the day. Retreat somewhere alone. Quietly. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and listen to your thoughts. I won't go into details about meditation, but yes, it is a moment of silence that can be assimilated to meditation.

Do you hear thoughts like the above? You may be in the middle of an attack! It is the attack of a mental pattern that says that it is not what you are doing now that is what you should do, but that in the next minute you will find the project of your life. That it's not the relationship you're in that fulfills you, and that there's definitely someone out there who will make you truly happy. And you listen and you feel agitated and you don't get involved in what you're doing, and you don't listen to the person you're with because you're thinking about the future.

For a long time I thought I was one step ahead by doing this. I was just unhappy because, never living in the present, the present was always unsatisfying. It's terrible to live like this! Stop it!

I will write about this mental pattern that Shirzad Charmaine calls the Restless Saboteur and that I will name "Anxiety".

Leave me a comment if you find yourself in this situation because I will write about the impact of "Anxiety" on

  • professional performance,
  • relationships and
  • the level of stress you feel every day.

I will also write about:

  • how can the attack be anticipated,
  • how it can be prevented and
  • how can you manage in the middle of it. Write to me if you feel that your productivity or your relationships are being attacked by this pattern and I will present you with personalized strategies.
