A common misconception is that life coaching has the same purpose and results as therapy.
This misconception arises from the stigma that still surrounds this field. Some people are still afraid to acknowledge their flaws. Some are even more afraid to accept that they need professional help.
Therapy aims to identify problems in a person's past to help them heal. A therapist will not work with a person.
However, as a coach, my role is not to help someone heal past traumas. As a coach I work with the person's present, but more importantly with their future. I help you create the future you want.
The role of a coach is not to solve someone's problems. A coach's role is to use the person's potential to help them create a new future.

As a life coach I don't work with a situation, but rather with a person. I will not address a specific problem and offer an exact solution.
Instead, I will guide that person through situations. That way they will realise why they act a certain way and why they feel a certain way, but also how they can improve their reactions.
These realizations will not only help with the situation that caused the problem, but also with similar situations the client may encounter.
Effective coaching is about creating a vision for and with the client. It's about helping them design a plan of action to get them where they want to go. A coach's role is to show the client all the possibilities that are open to them.
A coach helps the client realise their true vision for themselves much faster and with more power.
