If you want what you say to have an impact and not necessarily be liked, it's very simple!
There are words that steal your power and you don't even realize it. Realize when you use them and ... stop!

1. Somehow
"I wish somehow I could..."

It immediately indicates to the person in front of you that you are not sure about what you are proposing or telling. It is a clear indication of hesitation that your interlocutor perceives subliminally. And it robs you of the power to state clearly what you want to state.

2. Just
"I just want to tell you that..."

I want is a strong word. Accompanied by 'just', it loses all its volitional power. When you express yourself this way, it's as if you're afraid that the person in front of you won't listen to the end.

This word betrays your lack of confidence in yourself and in what you want to say. As Rich says, this word minimizes you in front of the other person. In fact, you are minimizing yourself.

3. It's my opinion/I may be wrong, but.../In my opinion
"...., but that's (just) my opinion."

And your opinion doesn't matter? If you have an opinion, you express it, period. It has always been difficult for people to express their opinion, they have always been afraid to do so. At many stages in human history you were punished when you spoke your mind and it was different from the opinion of those who set the tone. But now you are no longer in danger.

Speak your mind. Authentic. Without actually wanting to hurt anyone. Just say it!

There will always be people who like your truth and there will always be people who don't. And that's okay.
